We’re excited to announce that The Company of Biologists have agreed to sponsor the YLS 2012 Therapeutics Symposium.  The Company of Biologists publishes a number of prestigious journals of interest to the field of neurodegeneration, including Development, Journal of Cell Science, The Journal of Experimental Biology and two newer, open access journals: Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open.  In addition to this, The Company of Biologists supports scientists by sponsoring meetings such as YLS 2012 and by offering Travelling Fellowships – irrespective of nationality.

University of Leicester confirms sponsorship

The University of Leicester has now agreed to sponsor the event, generously subsidizing the costs for speakers and Leicester students attending the event.

If you’re thinking of coming to YLS2012 –  and remember it’s free to attend – but worried about transport costs, why not get in touch with your Graduate School to see if there are any travel grants available to encourage young scientists to attend meetings!

Accommodation

Following inquiries from a number of delegates travelling from further afield, we are in the process of arranging accommodation at Cardiff University’s modern student village at Severn Point, a 10 minute walk through the park from the site of the YLS2012 symposium.

We will make every effort to subsidize this cost to enable young researchers to attend the event, and will ensure that accommodation will cost no more than  £20 per night.  We  will publish further details shortly, together with a list of alternative hotels close to the venue.

Venue confirmed as Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama

We’re delighted to announce that the YLS2012 Therapeutics symposium will be held at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’s brand new, £22.5 million performance theater.

Opened in June 2011, the whole site features cutting edge design and wonderful acoustics, as well as plenty of lobby space for exhibitors, sponsors and poster presentations.  Why not have a look at a 360 degree tour of the facilities.

The whole team look forward to welcoming you there on August 24th.
